kentucky humane societyWe help our local animal shelter to prevent “rescue dogs”.

Worried about getting a new puppy when you could “rescue” a dog from the shelter? We give a portion of the fee for our puppies to our local animal shelter. This money goes directly to their “snip clinic” to neuter dogs owned by families who cannot afford it. For every Aussie Doodle Puppy that goes home, we prevent dozens of homeless dogs.

We are often asked, “Should I RESCUE a dog” or get a dog from a reputable breeder? There are pros and cons to either option. When you get a dog from the pound, sometimes you get a great dog, sometimes you get a dog with behavior problems.

While we commend the people who do adopt dogs from the shelter, this does NOT help the dog population problem; in fact it contributes to the problem. Bob Barker doesn’t tell you to adopt a dog from the pound; he tells you to spay and neuter your pets. Smart man! As long as we continue to give the irresponsible people a “way out”, they will continue to leave their dogs intact.  When you get a puppy from AwesomeDoodle, you prevent DOZENS (if not hundreds) of unwanted dogs from being born. For every AussieDoodle Puppy that goes home, we donate enough money to the snip clinic, so one male dog can be neutered. A low income family can go to the pound and get their dog neutered at little to no cost to them. Keep in mind, one male dog, from the time they are about 10 months old, to the time they are 10 years old, can fertilize the eggs of several females PER DAY. If you’re feeling guilty about buying the perfect dream puppy, call your local snip clinic, and donate money.
