Hi Tom, I’ve trained all our dogs before, but I am not a dog trainer by any means. I’m a recent retired physician. I never even took my past dogs to training classes, but I believe in them now.
It’s all your videos and articles that I used to train Stockton. I basically trained Stockton by using your videos, articles, and reading your website. The family told me to find a hobby through Stockton, and thanks to your guidance. I have.
I trained all our horses, and I always find it peaceful in doing so… but the overnight results from training Stockton using all your suggestions is unbelievable.
For the most part, my method in training all our family labs/retrievers in the past were all negative-type of training (if you compare the techniques I’ve learned from your Awesomedoodle website). I trained all my dogs in the past by raising my voice, punishment by crate, and although never physical punishment, it was a lot of correction by increasing my voice. I’ll tell you, your method is so much easier and faster results.
Thanks for your note Tom. Thanks for your sharing a more human-kindness-type of training. Thanks for the early start you give all these Awesomedoodles. Your training methods and philosophy definitely is more congruent to my personality. — Rich Naval
Congrats to Rich and his family on their new boy Stockton!
Stockton is a stunning red merle male puppy with a partial white collar, a big white belly and high contrast markings. Don’t you just love the white spot on his forehead and the white around his nose? His sister Star has those same markings! It is adorable. He is unique, but we think he will look almost like a mix of Kali and Walnut.
